purity promise and sex ed..

I think that teenagers should wait to have sex until they are married. Teenagers today have enough to deal with without worrying about the possiblity of have a baby with no job and still trying to get through school. A lot of kids in my grade are having sex and I don't think they are being careful about it, sitting on the bus or in study hall you can kind of tell what kids are doing. Some may just be making it up to fit in, personally I am trying to get my life together and figure out what I am going to do and don't need the extra responsiblity. I think sex ed in school would be a better thing for high school students who actually are older and probably are having sex. They needed to be reminded of the pros and cons of their actions. The cons are having a baby when they aren't ready, stds, hiv, aids these are all life changing things. Some parents would probably be supportive for sex ed in schools. Kids may be scared to ask their parents about sex and other parents wouldn't know how to talk to their kids and would feel more comfortable if someone else taught them.

Beyond the Green Zone..

I have read up to Chapter 8 in Beyond The Green Zone...so far it has given me more of a perspective on the war in Iraq. It tells both sides of what is really happening over there. When Jamail describes the looks on the faces of the people in Iraq, after the US military barged into houses it felt like the Iraqis didn't really want us there because they felt like they were being attacked and not protected.
